The music of the Grotorkèstre is entirely original.
Etienne Roche directs and composes for a group of thirty musicians:
- a rhythmic section
guitar, double bass, tuba, soubassophone, two drums and percussion
- all the family of saxophones
- trumpets and trombones
- vibraphone, violin, accordion, clarinets, flute and bassoon
- kora and traditional occidental oboe
The Grotorkèstre has recorded a live album in Saint-Gaudens in May 97; a second will be following soon.
The Grotorkèstre and the Grototobus.
The Grotorkèstre moves by the Grototobus.
When the good weather comes by, the Grotorkèstre adds a gallery to its Grototobus which once unfolded endows it with a stage and scenary.
The orchestra installs the sound and lighting system and does its sound check.
Thanks to this formula of spectacular suppleness, the Grotorkèstre can play in a public square, a beach or ad hoc events.
The organiser must provide a space with fixed boundaries and access to sufficient electrical power.
